I love the dark and the vivid
I live to shock the senses because the senses should be shocked--
a reminder: the mysterious face behind the universe is all colors, all textures, all manner of gaze and its intent
I am branded as a heretic but I cherish the truth
I am marked as a heathen but I believe
I am cast out as an angry, defiant, dangerous malevolency
but I Love—the dark and the vivid
They bring into sharp relief the light and the passion
I burn with light and passion
I laugh and cry
I sneer and I bow
I stand on the lonely precipice and I question everything
even as I draw my own picture of faith on the face of the earth
using my own blood
