Overlook08/24/2011 I stood at the edge of the Horseshoe Bend Overlook, the long, long drop at my feet. There are those that have come here to take that drop, to escape this "mortal coil." That was why I had come. But as I looked down at the green and the glimmer of the Colorado River, surrounded by the 180 million year old Navajo sandstone carved by Nature into a surreal masterpiece, something happened. I decided not to take that drop. The color and the beauty and the majesty whispered, "Stay here. Stay here a little longer." After a while of looking and listening and just breathing—and shedding a few tears-- I started the journey back, and onward. Written Content G.A.M. cc Reflect Chuang Yen |
