The Meaning Of Movies
When Aimee and I got together, it didn't take her long to realize that I wasn't much for eating fruits and vegetables. I mean, when I was growing up we always had them but I was a hard-case about it and I stayed that way; I like meat and starch. Mamma tried.
However, I'm changing now because Aimee was determined that my diet was going to improve. 
She's smart and laid-back and not into telling me what to do, but she's been adamant about adding all these great vegetable dishes and fresh fruit to our meals.
I'm starting to like them because Aimee definitely has her ways of making them appealing.

In we go to sit and study and learn. Learn that the games are of our own chosing, the rules are of are own making and the outcomes are reflections of what kind of players we believe ourselves to be?
Games—but to played with reverence.
So, after graduation, do we head into the "real world"?

The Meaning Of Movies
Marci and Zach are two of my best friends and one of the happiest couples I know--
the happiest couple I know.
Zach's been my buddy for years. We grew up together. He's one of the greatest guys in the world; and I say that with complete objectivity, hah hah. It's true though.
When Marci came along, it was a blessing all around. Hey, she lets us guys come over on Saturdays and trash their TV room and never says a word about the noise and generally obnoxious behavior. (We only trash it a little bit.)
As I've watched them over time, I have come to realize how much they put each other first. They are each other's royalty.
I have never been insensitive or unappreciative with women, at least I don't think I have. But watching Zach and Marci has sharpened my understanding about the nature of real Love—and the feeling, attitude, work and sacrifice it takes—and the joy it brings.
Knowing them has made me a better person.
 Zach would laugh and give me a massively hard time if he knew I'd said that.

The Meaning Of Movies
Every Tuesday afternoon at around 1, my wife Tamara and I would meet at our loft apartment for a quick lunch.
I would get an hour break on that day instead of the usual half-hour at best, and I'm only 5 minutes away from our place. Tamara starts work at 3 on Tuesdays.
We'd split a toasted cheese sandwich and have a cup of soup that she was kind enough to have ready when I got there. We'd talk about things and have a few laughs and it was fun. Less than an hour goes by fast but that added to the excitement.  We'd been doing that for about a year .
A couple of Tuesdays ago, I got in, loosened my tie and called out hello. Tamara came in and smiled and asked me how I was and brought lunch over and put it on the table in front of me. I noticed where she only had on a shirt and shorts. She leaned over with her shirt open and gave me a very intense look.
"It's really hot," she said.
"Uh, oh. You mean the soup," I said—a little startled.
"No," she replied.
We have a new tradition: I take an hour and a half for lunch on Tuesdays; Tamara still makes it to work on time, though sometimes she has to hurry; we've learned to like cold toasted cheese sandwiches and soup.
The time goes by fast but that adds to the excitement.

Kortney stood on the dock in the sunlight, side by side with the handful of brilliant minds that she had worked with for seven years. And now, their incredible accomplishment was there in front of them—there for all to see, use and experience for a century to come.
The governor was speaking into the PA, "...not only an amazing feat of design but of green design..."
A warm breeze touched Kortney's face and all at once she was transported back to another sunny day over twenty years earlier.
On this particular afternoon at the beach, Kortney played for hours.
She was a little girl, carefully swathed in sunblock by her loving Mother, building in the sand.
It was the most fun she ever remembered having. She constructed not a castle but a bridge.
And a mighty bridge it was, full of clever detail—a thing of beauty spanning several feet.
That was the day that changed everything.
Her Mom and several onlookers were astonished.
Her sweet, precious Mom. Kortney glanced down, quietly holding in a sob. Then looking up to the sky for a moment, she thought to herself, "Mom, you're there, aren't you? I miss you. I love you so much."
Kortney just knew that she was there—the magnificent, loving woman who had cared for her, protected her and guided her as she built that bridge to the future.

So I played the fool for him.
And now that it's over, I'm still not sure if he strung me along on purpose or his feelings were just ambiguous and he bungled it—which probably means he wasn't that into me.
 Some emotional ineptitude on both our parts, I suppose.
I'll never know for certain. Either way, I liked him and breaking it off really hurt.
I put my heart on the line and it didn't work out; it was scary and hard and it sure can crush your pride.
But there for a while, the possibilities were fabulous and exciting. I felt—alive. There's a cliche but it's true.
I know I won't ever forget his beautiful eyes and how warm I felt being next to him. However, I'm finding a little bit of consolation in reminding myself that, although I'm hurting now—
there will come a day that I won't be.
And feeling like a fool will fade and be replaced with feeling pleased that I had courage.

Oh. Well dear, I met Mommy at a fun party that a friend  was having. There were decorations and lights and music and—refreshments. It was a lot of fun!
Did you see Mommy and then tell her you loved her?
Well, I didn't tell her right away. I was sitting there drinking, er, milkshakes and it's funny—I was thinking about things—like parties and friends and life and like that and I was kind of daydreaming. All of a sudden, I had this feeling someone was standing in front of me and I looked up and there was Mommy!
Did you tell her she was pretty?
No, not right away. But I thought it. I thought, "What a pretty woman! And a little scary."
Mommy was scary?!
No! No, sweetheart! Daddy is just being funny. Your Mommy was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen and still is!
Did you ask her to go with you to dinner?
I did. And Mommy finally said yes after I asked her one hundred times!
What?! I can hear you, you know!
Hi, Mommy!
Hi, angel! It was Mommy who asked Daddy to go out to dinner! Daddy was a little bit afraid to ask Mommy. No doubt because I was so scary.
Now darling, you know I just meant you were so gorgeous that I was rattled!
Uh huh. Anyway sweetie, we went out and had a wonderful time!
Did you love Daddy right away?
Let's just say I liked him right away. I knew I loved him after a little while.
Did you love Mommy right away, Daddy?
