I have been told there are some different theories on the origin of Flamenco--
some different theories on the word itself, what it means.
I prefer to believe it means Gypsy.
Because when I dance, I feel the passion of the Nomad in my blood.
I am moving through Life, stamping "I Live! I Love!" upon the floor of the Earth,
from one place to the next.
Never staying—never stopping--
until the final Baile, performed with all the fire in the heart--
the heart of a Dancer, the heart of a Wanderer, the heart of a Gypsy.
