stood faithful for Eternity.
Through the ages they had repelled attacks by the Gothantine Swarm, the armies of Satanian,
the Children Of Guazra—who used Time itself as a weapon, and a myriad of other forces determined to inhabit the sphere of absolute power.
They turned them all back with sterling Courage and the indomitable strength of pure Faith.
And when Eternity ended, Sitrus and Sortacan headed for the loft apartment that they shared with one other roomie. It was time for some pizza and to make plans for a long weekend—really long.
That's how the job worked—Eternity on, Eternity off, time and a half for holidays.
Sortacan put on his T Shirt that read "Set on auto-populate" and pranced around combing his hair.
"You're an idiot," Sitrus told him.
"Hey, the ladies love this!" replied Sortacan, undeterred.
They took a taxi to their favorite club and hours later ended up at an all night diner with no numbers
and eating waffles with way too much maple syrup.
But that was alright; it had been a good night and they had fun.
And there was tomorrow—and the strength of pure Faith.
