I was aware of the moment of impact--
this car drilling through the red light doing 50, 60?--
coming right at me.
Then, I was standing somewhere, looking--
looking for something, trying to see where I was.
I was scared, terrified; I felt so lost.
I heard a voice—a soft, reassuring voice.
But I couldn't see anyone, anything.
"Easy, my friend," it said, "Try to calm yourself."
"What's happened to me?!!" I yelled, "Where am I?!"
"You are," the voice replied calmly, "where you believed you would be.
For you, that was very unclear. So where you are—is unclear."
"Am I, am I dead?"
I asked, feeling a sinking sensation of loss and even more fear.
"Your attention has—redirected," the voice responded.
"Am I a, ghost now?" I asked weakly, rather clumsily.
The voice laughed.
"Always Now, my friend," it answered gently.
"It is always Now."
